A weekend get away.

One night in North Vanvouver.  A trial separation for Sasha with Jessica.  We're having lots of fun but Sasha isn't doing so great.  She's hiding under the couch.  Sob.  Heart breaking.  Can't wait to see her tonight.  Doesn't bode well for the big trip in 12 days.  We checked into our hotel that I booked on hotwire and we're in the same two rooms as last year.  Hillarious.
Obligatory ferry shot.
Kai tried making friends.  Kids tend to avoid him.  Odd actions and movements plus they can't understand him.  He had fun playing by himself anyways.

On her phone.  Until a baby left a balloon behind that she got up to play with.

His phone died.  The battery was swelled.  Hadn't seen that one yet.  A quick minute on amazon and a new one should be here in a few days.  In time for the big road trip.  In the meantime he's on Kai's phone.  Kai thankfully didn't notice.  Luk also got up for the balloon fun but he isn't allowed to touch latex so had to use his feet.  Hillarious.  At home he plays with big gloves on.

Slight detour on our way to IKEA to Harmony donuts for bedtime snack later.

IKEA!!  Haven't been since Jia was a baby.

The boys got to go in the playroom for an hour.  They loved it.  We got an hour of stress free strolling though the showroom.

Love it.  Love it all.  Want it all.
Came out with a couple Chinese New Year decorations and a ton of ideas.
Lili found a light fixture for her room.  She has picked things on her own and is pleased with finding things she says match her personality. Fei has to hide an electrical panel in her space so she needs big art.  She picked a giant frame that will work.  Still need some art or something creative for it.

You get to control the music playing in the sample showrooms.

Comfy.  The matching little chairs are soooo cute.

The perfect tiny kitchen.

Eric and the big girls ate here last year and have been talking about it since.  I have to say...did not disappoint.  We had a late dinner after walking the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  Will post those pictures in a separate post.  One of the reasons the story of this restaurant carries on is because a homeless guy came in and took one of the girls unfinished milkshakes out of the garbage can.  They had never seen anything like that.  It affected them.  They were grossed out.  They were super creeped that he'd been watching them through the window and knew the shake had been tossed. It has brought a lot of compassion talks to the table.  Imagine their surprise to see the same guy sleeping in the covered alcove there.  Eric left him an applesauce, cookie and a chocolate shake.  Yup...more talks.
