Kai is 11

Eric and the girls did the heavy lifting move then went to the night market before the girls treated Dad to a Montanas feast.
Teddy and Thelonious came for a couple days.  Teddy fits right in and hangs with Isabel.  Thelonious has anxiety but I finally won him over this time.  He snuggles with Finn now.  Brothers :)
Mom also did her big move out.  Poppy stayed with me and for the first time she approached the couch gently and cuddled with Finn.
We went to Pathfinders in Parksville for the long weekend. I don't usually do row camping and it was a bit shocking when we got there.  So many tight small spots.  We were with friends so that made it all fine.  The kids liked it there well enough.
The three boys did fabulously together all weekend.
The spot on the river is amazing.  Slow moving water on a sand beach.
Lots of different things for kids to do.
Water in the pool was warmer than the river so the bigger kids were back and forth.
Lili and Fei did their last shift.

A big goodby from the staff.
Happy Birthday Kai!
How can he be 11 already?!
His request was ice cream.
We went to Port Alberni for the day.
We started with a walk in a park.
This tree is black and bleeding from a lightening strike. Sad and oddly beautiful.
Lunch at the Harbour Quay.
Kai's favorite playground.
Live music from our favorite trio.
A whole family picture. So rare.
The requested ice cream at Coombs Candy and Creamery.
Presents!
Love them.
We made cake in the moho.  I held the candle so he wasn't blowing on the cake.
Cake for breakfast the next day. More of that most excellent parenting.
The girls official move out.
I'm so happy for them of course but still sobbing my way through all the feelings.  Eric came home just after they left and I was still crying.  He was like "really, you'll see them on Saturday".  Sigh.

This is crazy but six of the FCC kids are at VIU this year!  Lili, Fei, Rosa, Mei-Li, Jade and Esmee.  Wow.
