Lake Cowichan

Back to camping.  Mom, Dad, Penny and Hanna joined us Sunday.  Not all of us got in the lake ;)

Monday it was just us.  We packed a lunch and hiked to a private beach and from there we donned life jackets and swam to a little island.  We go every year, this was Jia's first time swimming to the island.  She was pretty excited.  Eric dragged the boys over with them floating on their backs.  I dragged Kai back.  Too funny.  At one point I thought he was sleeping.  And no camera on the island.

The trail in and out was pretty rough.  Boys did the trail and Eric had to help them both down the steeper part at the end to the beach.  Kai climbed out on his own using a crouch with his hands up the rocks.  Pretty impressive.  I found it tough going.  All three girls are part goat!

The girls and I came home after dinner because I work tomorrow and they were happy to get back to wifi.  The boys were just heading to bed when we left. They don't even know about wifi.

Wasn't a big picture taking day.
Kai got in water willingly.
The island.  Looks close but it's a decent swim to get there.  We talked about going around it this year but still too far for Jia and a bit much for Eric and I while dragging the boys. Kai floats well, surprisingly very calm just laying in the water.  Luk is rigged and tippy, not at all calm.
The S.S. Nelson
They needed jackets because they're headed back to the island.
Luk's turn for a little ride.
He was having a hard time.  Too hot and too cold. He wouldn't eat or drink.  He was babbling and zoned out.  We once again over did the day for Luk.  He rallied and did the hike out.  At one point Kai bumped into him on the trail and Luk yelled at him "watch out Kai! I'm delicate!".
