Electrical

One of the living room lights went off.  Then again and again.  It was an ancient switch that was weird and embarrassingly we will all admit that we had a HARD time remembering which up and down switch operated side to side lights.  However the moment we realized Eric was going to modernize the switch Lili, Fei and I all squawked.  Fei said we should keep the quirkiness of our house.  After some debate we agreed safety was more important. We very grudgingly let him swap to side by side switches to match the side by side lights. He did manage to find old out of style switch plate and little toggles. To go from old three way to new two wires required some time on YouTube and in his textbook ;)
It took several attempts, countless trips for tools and up and down stairs to turn power off and on plus a trip to town. He had to cut a bigger hole which was super loud and extremely distressing for the dogs. Then he went outside to rewire the pool because the pump power cord burnt out. Phew.  Plus he trimmed hedges, fed the boys, did some laundry, helped me gather some camping gear, bought me a tablecloth for camping, did maintenance on Lili's bike and loaded it in her car and helped Lili a bit in the kitchen.
At least his morning was relaxing before he got to his chores.
