SB clinic at Children's

Luk was back to Children's this past week.  They don't really so much have a Spina Bifida day as they have a spinal cord injury day.  The good news being Spina Bifida is mostly gone as a birth defect here.

So Eric took Luk this time on his own.  Luk was simply delighted to have a holiday with Dad all to himself.  Luk talks more than our others.  Eric said there was no down time at all, Luk talked through the whole trip.  They stayed at Easter Seal House.  It's old and there was no air conditioning but it was free, close to Children's and has free underground parking.

Eric got some more info about Luk re: toileting surgeries.  We always said we'd let Luk decide when he's older but the quality of life he'd get now makes it pretty tempting.  I think he had 8 apptments this time.  They had to walk 20 mins from Easter Seal House to get there and by the time they  arrived Luk was tired.  Great that everyone there could see how he moves when he's tired. Now they want to measure him for braces.  He needs to be more upright.  His knees are too bent, he's bending his back to compensate for his knees and he isn't using his toes at all.  That should happen in the next few months.

Overall Luk had a fabulous trip with Dad. He didn't miss home at all ;)
