Silk Market

We left the hotel for a walk but it was biting cold and Jia was complaining.  You know it's cold if she is complaining!   It was too early for nap time so we grabbed a cab and went to the silk market.  I don't like it nearly as much as the pearl market.  Tons of clothes.  Fei, you need to spend some time here.  We just find it overwhelming.

Jia and I had a manicure together.  $9 each.  The ladies and men working there were really fussing over her and they all took pics of her.  Too funny.  She wanted to know why they like her so much.  Obviously they don't get a lot of kids in there. Jia was delighted and she sat good as gold.  Lots of shy smiles to me ;)

We cruised toys and arts and crafts.  Tons of things I'd like.  Nothing we need.  Always mindful of having to take it all home.

We spent some time looking for Luk's jade.  Nothing that matched mine in style and size.  Quite by accident found a baby one that matches mine for Jia.  I got it for 40 yuan.  Makes you wonder  if it's fake for that price!  We had to squeeze her hand a bit to get it on.  It won't fall off ;)  We've told her she can keep it on all the time like Mommy and she was pretty happy about that.  She hasn't tried to take it off yet.

Fei, we tried to find a small one for you.  No yellow.  Apparently the yellow agate is rare.  Lots of light orangy beigy yellow but no golden yellow like yours.  I'll try again tomorrow.  Any chance you can take a string, wrap your left wrist and then measure the length.  Lili, we're assuming you wouldn't wear one, but if we're wrong, let
us know.

Picked up subway for dinner.  Came back to the hotel in a wind storm.  Jia grabbed some leaves.  She is coloring them while Luk naps.   Oh, and when we got back the hotels Christmas decorations were up.

We met an adoptive family at the market from Italy.  They are here for three weeks.  Different paperwork.   Their son was mesmerized by the toys, he is almost four.  We have noticed almost every family we've run across has adopted a son.  How wild is that?!
