8 Dogs

Shannon and Ken are off to a wedding today.  We got three of their kids and two dogs. Teddy and Thelonious were dropped off last night for the week while their family is on a holiday.  The kids are super easy.  Let loose with no rules.  The dogs are doing way better than expected.

We did have a moment of panic when Thelonious showed us he knows how to walk to front deck railing!  When I attempted to get near him to get him down he ran along the railing and fell.  It was super dramatic. Mom and I were calling for help.  I closed the gate.  Mom kept her eye on him.  I figured he'd be hurt for sure and was mentally planning what I needed to do, gather, prepare for me to leave 7 dogs and 6 kids with Eric while I rush to the emergency vet in Nanaimo.  Against all odds, he seems perfectly fine.  The bush must have broken his fall.  Fei brought Teddy out and Thelonious went to his Teddy.  Thank God.  Phew.  So no more free range front porch this week.  He can leap out the cat hole on the back deck too.  Agile tiny thing.

There has been a LOT of peeing/marking going on so they're all banned from the dining and living room.  We've also gated the utility room for the cats and the upstairs gate, again for the cats.  We're living in the kitchen and using the side yard only.  Also trying to get them all out on the hour for outside pees.  Except my three littles who are happy with their pad.  Plus, Finn still can't do stairs.
Coco isn't happy with the visitors on my lap and Jasper isn't so sure this group cuddle thing is for him.  Haha.  So I'm trapped in the best way.
The day showed me my dream of being a stay at home dog mama is really just too much work with this many ;)
She was stressed all day but finally got a nap late afternoon.  She figured out how to get to the top of the couch for some peace and quiet.

The kids are all staying busy. Lots of screams and giggles.  Kai is having a hard time upstairs and is jumping on his bed today.  Sounds like elephants coming through the roof.  So he's spending some time with me.
