Autism assessment day for Luk.

Short story, we're not looking for further autism assessments.

Longer version. He has lots of autistic traits but they all overlap other diagnoses.  He is already top tier funding so a diagnosis wouldn't help him.  He is socially aware, reaponsible and cognitively able to comport himself appropriately in new settings so this is key in a diagnosis and he doesn't feel we need to look for further testing in the autistic realm yet.

He feels that he has several other things going on.  A host of medical issues and deficits that are causing anxiety and he definitely has adhd and anxiety exasperates adhd so he'd like to see Luk treated for anxiety before adhd.  As well, he thinks there is a neurological misfire likely connected to his other neurological issues.  He believes the flat personality is common with kids who experience lack of care or stimulation in their early years.  He thinks this is just simply the way Luk is hardwired now.  I have repeatedly said to everyone along the way that there is a processing delay and I am repeatedly told no.  But today the Dr definitely saw it and says it's huge and impacting his every moment.  He agrees with me there is way more inside his brain than he can get out.  So he is requesting a speech and language assessment.  He also notes that his speech is super odd and he's never seen it before.

Luk wasn't too fussed about anything.  He had some questions after.  He does think it's a bit funny to have the same diagnosis as Jia.

I can't compare kids of course.  But in comparing, haha, Jia has way more severe adhd than Luk but Luk has a whole host of other things playing in.

It's crazy hard to pull the things apart on kids and no way to know how much they can learn to manage in adulthood with coping skills.  Our goals are functioning adults.  The Drs goal was happiness now and wasn't interested in the future.

Overall it was interesting.  I was impressed with how much data he had gathered since Luk was 2.  From his Pediatrician, Nuerologist, the school and the Children's team.

We needed to head back home after lunch at May Gold because Jia's orientation with McDonald's is today.
We're not sure but we think there is a trainer coming in to train more than Jia at once.  She's surprisingly looking forward to this.
Update, we were on time for the Walmart outlet but orientation was at the main outlet.  Oy.  That wasn't mentioned in her email.  Stressful start.  She was 4 minutes late to the second drop.
Eric's sister Julie bought Cheese months ago.  She came this past weekend to learn all about it and learn to tow and park.  It went well.  She has it home in Sooke and parked in her garage.  The new name is Brie.  Love it.  I didn't want to be here for the transfer.  Bittersweet.  So Mom, Lili and I went to Costco.
Eric cleaned her all up and took photos so I can list her for sale.
How do I let her go?!
The debate has been going on since Aug.  Why can't I just keep a spare car? I mean we have the room.  Eric says it's totally up to me.  I do know it's a bit insane but she is near perfect and so pretty.
