In Beijing

We're here.  It took all day with forward motion to get here.  To say Jia didn't like flying would be an understatement.  We're scared, very scared of the 11 hour flight home.

Jia and I are both just covered from head to toe in snot, drool and a little vomit.  It's good to be at a hotel again.

The hotel is ULTRA modern.  Totally, totally not my style.  Everyone else seems thrilled though.  Now to occupy ourselves in the big city for six days.  The girls just want to go home.  We were supposed to see the Great Wall tomorrow but the trip was changed to Tues.  The babies see the Dr. at the SOS clinic on Monday.  So far the itinerary has been suggestive but really the plans keep changing and even when we've been told something in the morning it's been subject to change.

We were less than thrilled with our guide in Nanchang, first one ever to be so frustrating.  Clueless about babies, never once considered us and seemed shocked that we didn't like her switching plans at the last minute.  Now here in Beijing our guide is Mr. Yang who seems lovely, although he says he did Lili and Fei's adoptions and that he recognizes me.  Nope.  Positive I can remember all of our guides.

Catherine can you remember the names of the hotels we stayed at in Beijing?

Once again, when we checked in there was massive confusion about the sleeping arrangements.  They had all six of us in one room with one queen.  Really?!  Really?!  Does that work for Chinese families traveling?  Anyways, I kept insisting that we need two rooms and finally that happened.  Again we're short one bed.  Fei slept in Mom's room in Nanchang and Lili slept in mine and Eric's bed, this time Lili will sleep in Mom's room and Fei has set herself up on her own little couch, she's busy right now making her little nest.  She gets to sleep right beside Jia's crib.

So...my techno girls...I couldn't figure out the safe, so Lili had to do it, and then while she was gone with Eric exploring, Fei had to help me get in again.

I hear that the pool is amazing with waterfalls.  Eric says the prices for food are too high $40 a person for dinner buffet.

Tonight we're eating the emergency oatmeal packets for dinner :)  It's all good.

Jia hasn't slept all day and she's still going strong.

Night all.
