Dribs and Drabs

The busier we are, the less photos I take.  I think I'm fairly decent at capturing the moments but I miss sooooo much.  My phone isn't always near me.  I can't/won't go back to a bulky camera.  Every day is full.  We all have something on the go constantly.  Kids aren't thrilled about posing so much these days.

The blog is a wee high lite  reel.  I don't get it all on here.  Lots of times there are no photos to go with so it all feels too boring to post.

A glimpse of today.  Lili needs to order books for University courses.  She has the list for two courses but not the other two yet.  I want her to piece it together, she wants to do it all at once.  Sigh.  I pushed, she called, only 5 books in stock for one of the courses, waiting on 93 coming in.  I pushed hard for her to order now.  I think she did.  At least she confirmed my visa number.  Full time job this University thing.

Her car needs a reset on the chips.  The check engine light keeps coming on. It's worrying.  She needs her pedal extenders moved to the new car but she has had to give the new one to Eric so much that she needs the extenders in the old car still.  Can't sell the old car until extenders are out.  Haha.  No one else can drive it.  Eric did a check on the car himself and drove it hard today he thinks it's truly fine.  It has an appointment to go to Eric's mechanic this Friday to triple check before she moves to Nanaimo.  It's supposed to go to Nanaimo Friday but at the same time as Kai's eye specialist appointment in Victoria.  It got too complicated.

Eric put new struts in my Jeep, now I have a clunk.  Seems coincidental to me but Eric says no.  He has checked and checked and test driven repeatedly. It's a mystery. So it goes in tomorrow for a check up.  In the meantime I'm driving the Navigator.  Which is basically a truck.  Luxurious to drive but huge.

Coco has decided we're all in grave danger and has taken up extreme barking as a hobby.  We're not delighted.  Our first barker.  No clue how to stop her.  Advice welcome.  She is a lot of dog for 3lbs.

Lili and Fei are both working full time, so that really cuts into plans.

Lili has had months to move downstairs but is trying to finally get on that because Lian is coming on her own next week and we'd like her to get to use the guest room.

Jenny has a bladder infection.  She's on the mend.  Lili has been an emotional wreck through this.  It is NOT going to go well for cat or girl when Lili leaves.  Jenny is also getting ear drops and Lili has Eric and I doing it so Jenny won't resent her.  Now she's reading up on cat bonding and memory.

Fei is working on coordinating a date for Penny, Hanna, herself and me to look at prom dresses.

We just read the news that school start date is moved further out to an unknown date. Sigh.  As I expected.  So incredibly sick of this pandemic.  Sooo, soooo sick of the news. Tired of conspiracy theories and tired of talking to everyone about it all, every where we go.

The girls sleep in every day It's going to be brutal getting them on a schedule.  If and when the day ever comes.

Last night we stopped at a dollar store to get a Birthday balloon for a friend of Jia's.  We walked in and the store was silent and the few people in there all turned and stared at Jia and I.  I asked if everything was ok.  Because the thoughts in my head were that they were clearly being held up and we were in danger.  Oy.  Nope.  Mandatory masks there now.  Didn't I read the sign?  Nope.  Everywhere we go is plastered in signage.  It's too much.  Whipped out our masks and carried on.  Jia's first time having to wear one.  She didn't love it.

Oh...our shower upstairs has been slow to drain.  Problem getting worse and worse.  We've been complaining to Eric.  He finally said last night that we have a real problem.  Haha.  Ya....I know.  So first thing this morning he hit Home Hardware and got the chemicals. Disaster averted. All running clear now. Phew.

The boys are great.  I have ds's for their Birthdays coming up.  I bought them years ago.  We tested them last night and they're great.  Today I ordered Pokemon games for them.  Fingers crossed they make it in time! Kai asks everyday "no school today?" This is the marker of a good day for him.  He also asks about his Birthday every day.  Then hangs his head when we say not today.  He is talking incessantly about ice cream cake. Luk just wants to know why he likes ice cream cake so much.  We all just shrug. It's a mystery.

Jia is playing online games a LOT with her friends.  She gets in the pool daily and is always looking for someone to swim with her.  I have not gotten in the pool yet this year.  Weird I know.  I went outside last night to see Eric and I watched him walking by the pool and he walked over to it and leaped up and dunked his head over the top and into the water.  He jumped down with water spraying all over and he shook and just carried on.  I just laughed.  What a nut.

My desk is loaded.  Still working on June!

There is a cute little convertible across the street on a car lot.  I would love another toy.  Fun times. I put a ton of kms on the last one.  Eric negotiated a nice deal on it but I don't really want another car but I would love to drive in the wind again.  I told him I'll just put my windows down more often.  Totally not the same but I don't want to burden Eric with another minute of car stuff.  He would totally just go get the car for me though 💘

Eric is working in his spare time...hahaha...moving a fence to create more parking space.

Too many calls and texts today just on the daily mundane.

Dinner tonight is taco salads.  ;)

That's all for the first half of the day.
